The Village of Inclusion: Sunday in Porticello Paolo Ruffini

Sunday, May 10, 2026

On Sunday, May 10, 2026, an unprecedented event will take place in front of the sea at Piano Stenditore in Porticello: a gentle revolution that breaks down barriers through culture and sport.
The UMIP – Una Marcia in Più ODV association, with the patronage of the Municipalities of Bagheria and Santa Flavia, presents the first edition of “The Village of Inclusion.” This unique event will feature Paralympic athletes, writers, influencers, and activists, united by a single goal: to demonstrate that diversity is a resource and never a limitation. It will not only be a square, but an open-air laboratory of humanity. The event will officially open at 10:00 a.m. with the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony in the presence of local authorities. Immediately afterwards, the stands will open for networking between associations and citizens in the heart of the Village. And then there are many guests, from Paralympian athlete Anna Mineo to influencer Nadia Lauricella, from stunt pilot Paolo Pocobelli to Wheelchair Motocross champion Ilaria Naef, and writer and activist Giovanni Cupidi.
Many associations have joined the Inclusion Village. Piano Stenditore will also be one of thousands of Italian squares with the AIRC Research Azaleas, on Mother’s Day. There will be children’s entertainment and live music at 7 pm with the Palermo band Ricomincio da Tre (Keyboards: Claudio Genova; Vocalist: Daniele Marotta; Guitars: Aurelio Vitello). Special guest: Joline Terranova, singer-songwriter from Palermo.
At 9 pm, closing an emotional day, the grand finale with Paolo Ruffini. The Tuscan actor, who in recent years has combined his artistic career with a strong commitment to social causes, will perform his show “Io sono perfetto” for the first time. A light-hearted yet profound tale, capable of shattering stereotypes about disability, inviting audiences to smile at their own flaws and understand that perfection is merely an illusion, while happiness is everyone’s right. Joining him on stage are four actors with Down syndrome: Letizia Bombelli, Giorgio Gabbiadini, Emanuele Galeazzi, and Diego Gambino.
Admission to the event and Village activities is free and open to all.
