The city of Bagheria, in collaboration with the Metropolitan City of Palermo, is preparing to welcome the magic of the holidays with a prestigious musical event: the concert by the “Palermo Spiritual Ensemble” titled “It’s Christmas Time.”
The performance, which will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 7:30 PM in the Mother Church of Bagheria, will feature the Palermo-based group performing a repertoire that combines the emotional power of gospel and traditional spirituals with the most famous Christmas songs, creating a unique and engaging atmosphere. The Palermo Spiritual Ensemble is a historic group in the Italian music scene, active for over thirty years. Known for its ability to blend the Black-American Jubilee movement with a more austere approach closer to white European religiosity, the Ensemble has distinguished itself for its research and experimentation. The group is renowned for its successful experimentation with the juxtaposition of Gospel harmonization and Sicilian dialect lyrics, a unique experiment that has resulted in highly acclaimed songs such as “Stidda.” The Ensemble is composed of renowned artists in the music world, including the voices of Anna Bonomolo, Gabriella Portallo, Vito De Canzio, and Giampiero Militello, accompanied by instrumentalists (drums, piano, keyboards, and bass). Significant Experiences: Over the years, the group has graced prestigious stages, performing in major Italian theaters and appearing in international festivals and television programs on RAI and Mediaset.
