The Municipality of Bagheria joins International Museum Day 2026:

“Museums that unite a divided world”

Free admission on May 18, 2026

On the occasion of International Museum Day (IMD), which will be celebrated on May 18, 2026, the Municipality of Bagheria announces its official support for the initiative promoted by ICOM (International Council of Museums).
This year’s edition, which coincides with the important milestone of ICOM’s 80th anniversary, revolves around the theme: “Museums that Unite a Divided World.” In an era characterized by social and cultural fragmentation, the Bagheria museum confirms its role as a place of culture, active citizenship, and custodian of a collective memory that transcends all boundaries.
To highlight the vitality of our region’s artistic and cultural heritage, the Municipal Administration—through the VII Culture Directorate led by Angelo Guerrera—has included local initiatives in the new IMD 2026 Interactive Map. This global tool will enhance Bagheria’s events internationally, connecting our cultural institutions with a global audience through the official ICOM homepage and the dedicated portal for the day.
“Participating in International Museum Day means reaffirming Bagheria’s role as a cultural center of excellence. In this special edition for the 80th anniversary of ICOM, we want to demonstrate how art can be a universal language capable of bridging divisions and inspiring a shared future.”
On May 18th, admission to the museum will be free. The administration invites the public to come and discover the museum.
