By resolution No. 185 of 3 July 2025, the Bagheria municipal council approved a partial amendment to the previous resolution No. 153 of 29 May 2025, concerning the experimental launch of the additional “City Shuttle” service for the 2025 summer season. The changes concern the reshaping of timetables and routes, with the aim of optimising the service and responding more effectively to users’ needs.
The city shuttle service, active from 1 June to 31 August 2025, was introduced to improve sustainable mobility in the municipal area and help facilitate the movement of citizens and tourists to places of historical, artistic and scenic interest. The service is free of charge and makes use of 8 municipal-owned electric school buses, already used for ‘Home-School’ transport. To date there are 812 users of the service.
Since the launch of the service on 1 June 2025, the Administration has noted certain aspects in the experimental phase: A high number of users at weekends (Saturday and Sunday), but limited use on other days and zero use in the weekend evening service (from 20:00 to 24:00). An almost non-existent use of the Centro Storico/Cemetery route and return routes judged too long and articulated, in addition to the absence of reservations at some scheduled collection points.
Therefore, in order to optimise the service, following discussions with the contracting company Sommatinese Viaggi s.r.l.. it was decided to reschedule days and times, while keeping the contractual amount unchanged.

New timetables and routes (valid from 8 July 2025):

Return journey: Bagheria-Aspra:
Days: Tuesday to Sunday.

Timetable: Morning: From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Afternoon: From 16:00 to 20:00. Frequency: On Saturdays and Sundays there are two shuttles at the same time.

We reiterate that the route Historic Centre Bagheria-Cemetery is only and exclusively on Tuesdays from 9:00 to 13:00.
Booking procedure:
In order to optimise the service and guarantee better management, booking of the service is necessary and a priority (if there are available seats at the bus stop, which have not been booked, they may be used), and must be made only and exclusively at the following times at the following telephone number 350.5934372:
– from 08:30 to 09:00 and from 15:30 to 16:00 for the Bagheria-Aspra route (Tuesday to Sunday)
– and from 08:30 to 09:00 only on Tuesdays for the route Historic Centre Bagheria-Cemetery.
