The Municipality of Bagheria announces that the press conference to present the “Digital Citizenship Festival: Connected to the Future – DataPolis,” originally scheduled for tomorrow, September 29, at 11:30 a.m., has been moved up to 10:30 a.m., again at Villa Butera.
Promoted by the Datapolis Net-Politics association and organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Bagheria and under the patronage of the Municipality, ANCI Sicilia, the Order of Journalists of Sicily, Assostampa Siciliana, and PA Socia, the festival will be held from October 10 to 12, 2025, in Bagheria. The event, conceived by NetPolitics APS, aims to strengthen digital civic culture through a rich program of training activities, public talks, and opportunities for discussion. The “DataPolis” festival aims to promote the informed use of technology and data, encouraging collaboration between citizens, institutions, and professionals in the sector.
The program is inspired by the principles of the “Manifesto for the Responsible Use of Data” drafted by NetPolitics.
The event’s hybrid format combines lectures, hands-on workshops, online and in-person sessions, aimed at professionals, students, administrators, and industry professionals, as well as interested citizens.
The main objectives are to strengthen critical thinking and ethical awareness in the use of data, promote data literacy, and stimulate civic innovation. The festival will also offer training credits for professional associations and institutions.
Prominent guests already confirmed include comedian and television host Saverio Raimondo, Andrea Iacomini, spokesperson for UNICEF Italy, journalists Luca De Biase of Il Sole 24 Ore and Vincent Russo of Il Fatto Quotidiano, Fanpage editor-in-chief Annalisa Girardi and UNICEF Italy spokesperson Andrea Iacomini, journalist Sonia Montegiove (member of the CTS (Rai School of Journalism) in Perugia, contributor to Messaggero), and many other well-known figures from television, sports, and culture.
To finance the event, the Municipality of Bagheria published an exploratory call, overseen by Angelo Guerrera, director of Directorate VII, seeking expressions of interest in sponsoring the festival. Private individuals, businesses, accommodation facilities, and associations interested in supporting the initiative can submit a sponsorship request. Each sponsor will be assigned a different type of image distribution based on the amount of financial support provided, including the production of reels and videos for social media.
