“Contemporaneo Itinerante” arrives in Bagheria with three shows
From August 1 to 30, 2025
The “Contemporaneo Itinerante” festival arrives in Bagheria, at Villa Butera, with a trio of events dedicated to theater and performance art.
The shows, all starting at 9:00 PM, will enliven the August evenings, offering Bagheria audiences an opportunity to experience contemporary artistic productions. Contemporaneo Itinerante is a theater festival conceived and directed by Andrea Saitta, produced by the “Allunaggio” association. It stands out for its dynamic approach to the contemporary scene, touring various locations with performances and community training programs. The event is characterized by its focus on contemporary theatrical languages, with a program that embraces a wide range of aesthetics and themes, capable of engaging and stimulating audiences in new and surprising ways. The festival features two distinct yet complementary programs: Infanzia (Childhood) and Classico (Classical), which represent two seemingly distant worlds, yet which, through the lens of contemporaneity, intertwine and renew themselves.
The detailed program of events is as follows:
AUGUST 1: The festival will open with the show “FORMICHE,” directed by Saverio Tavano. The production is entrusted to the “Compagnia Nastro di Möbius.”
AUGUST 26: “LA LOCANDIERA Esprit de Pomme de Terre,” based on the play by Carlo Goldoni, will be performed, in a special rewrite by Andrea Saitta, who is also directing it. A co-production of the Compagnia dell’Arpa and the “Compagnia Allunaggio/Décalé.”
AUGUST 30: The festival will conclude with “Arte_mi_Sia,” an investigation into beauty and obsceneness, directed by Santi Cicardo. The show is produced by the “Compagnia OTQA” and “Casa Teatro.”
“Contemporaneo Itinerante” is a project that aims to bring art and culture to diverse contexts, promoting theatrical enjoyment and offering moments of reflection and entertainment.
The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Culture, with the patronage of the Municipality of Palermo and the Metropolitan City of Palermo, and in collaboration with the Municipality of Bagheria.
