On Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 7:00 PM, the 98th concert of the City of Bagheria concert season will take place at the Villa Butera theater. Titled *Voices of Sicily: Traditional and Folk Songs*, the event features the Coro degli Erei and the Aria Nova Quintet, with Carmelo Capizzi as conductor, Maurizio Debole on guitar, and vocalists Clara Folisi, Antonino Interisano, Paolo Lo Monaco, and Silvestro Motta.
“Between Folk and Tradition — Voices of Sicily”
The concert explores the dialogue between Sicilian music and culture, weaving together folk songs and original compositions.
The program—brought to life by the choir, guitar, and a wind quintet—brings together pieces from the island’s traditional repertoire alongside works by composers who have reinterpreted and revitalized its musical heritage. Through the expressive power of the Sicilian language, the melodies and lyrics evoke universal human experiences: love, longing, nostalgia, and the rhythms of daily life. Featuring works by artists ranging from Rosa Balistreri and Cinzia Capizzi to Maurizio Debole, Gaetano Calì, and Nunzio Ortolano, the concert serves as a bridge between memory and the present day, offering the audience an authentic, intense, and deeply musical vision of Sicily.
The concert is organized by the association Bagheria Bequadro, under the patronage of the Municipality of Bagheria, the Department of Tourism, Sport, and Entertainment of the Sicilian Region, the Italian Choral Federation (Federazione Cori Italiani), and Chorus Inside Sicilia – Federcori.
