The new Cirincione Playground, built in the adjacent area of ​​the Giuseppe Cirrincione primary school, will be inaugurated on Saturday 10 May at 5:30 pm at the Cirincione comprehensive institute. This green space, completely renovated and equipped with modern play equipment, represents an investment in children’s entertainment.
The new playground will offer children a safe and stimulating environment where they can play, socialize and spend time outdoors, but also a relaxation area for adults as well as a multipurpose basketball and volleyball court. The area was designed with particular attention to safety and inclusiveness, ensuring fun for all children.
During the school term, the area will be open every afternoon (excluding school hours). On weekends (Saturday and Sunday) it will be open all day. In the summer period, it will be open every day, both in the morning and in the afternoon.
The intervention is not limited to the playground alone. The project also involved the arrangement and redevelopment of the external atrium of the “Giuseppe Cirincione” school, with the aim of increasingly opening the school to the local area.
As part of the work, the greenery was also taken care of, with the planting of elegant Washingtonia palms on the sides of the war memorial and the insertion of large-capped trees with non-invasive roots in the two entrance corridors to the school, improving the aesthetics and usability of the outdoor spaces. The existing play area was also redeveloped with the relocation of new games and the arrangement of the rubber flooring to ensure greater safety. The work was financed thanks to the funds allocated under the PO FESR 2014/2020 – Action 9.6.6 “Functional recovery and reuse interventions of old publicly owned buildings with social animation and collective participation activities”.
The Mayor of Bagheria, Filippo Maria Tripoli, the Councilor for Social Policies, Emanuele Tornatore, and the Councilor for Public Education, Antonella Insinga, will be present at the inauguration of the new Cirincione Playground.
During the event, street artists, acrobats and clowns, the “Sbada Clown”, will perform.
All citizens are invited to participate in the inauguration event.
