With Resolution No. 158 of June 6, 2025, the City Council approved the project, “Baharia summer 2025, events, culture, tourism and sports between sea, history and traditions,” which includes a calendar of artistic and entertainment events designed to involve all segments of the population. The events will take place between Bagheria and Aspra from June 21, 2025 to September 30, 2025.
The initiative “Baharia Estate 2025,” desired by the municipal administration with the coordination of Councillor Antonella Insinga supported by all departments, was created with the intention of continuing the tradition of summer events, which aims to meet the expectations of citizenship to spend moments of leisure in the summer season. The goal is to educate the citizenry about the popular, cultural, historical, artistic, monumental and landscape traditions of Sicily, Bagheria and Asprense, while promoting moments of aggregation and sharing that enhance the local tradition. It is also intended to enhance the monumental, cultural, artistic, and popular religious heritage of Sicily, Bagherese and Asprense, and to promote knowledge of the symbols of Sicilian tradition. Another purpose is to promote sports and inclusion, placing play and recreational activities at the center.

“The promotion of culture and tourism is fundamental to the development of our city,” states the city administration. “With ‘Baharia Summer 2025,’ we want to offer entertainment to our fellow citizens and attract visitors from neighboring areas. These events represent a potential opportunity for artisans, restaurateurs and businesses to benefit from a possible economic spin-off.” says Bagheria Mayor Filippo Maria Tripoli.

The program of “Baharia Estate 2025” includes a wide variety of events, including cultural events, sporting events and tourism activities. Among the cultural events, the Mediterranean Book Festival in Aspra stands out. There will also be artistic-cultural events such as the concert “Anna Bonomolo & Jazz’n progress” and the performance “SIRAH” ethno-popular Madonite band with a rock soul and innovative rhythms with Mediterranean and Irish sounds, strongly linked to folk traditions. The “Contemporary Itinerant” review at Villa Butera will include shows such as “Odysseus Superstar” “La Locandiera Esprit de pomme de terre” and ‘Artemisia’ On Sept. 25 in Bagheria there will be the theatrical performance “Il cunto” by Salvo Piparo.

In terms of sporting events, a “City of Bagheria” Summer 5-a-side Soccer Tournament, a Basketball Tournament, Yoga at Sunset classes on the Aspra seafront, and a Beach Volleyball Tournament on the Aspra beach are planned. In addition, the “Sport & Smile Festival” will be held on Sept. 20 and 21, with 5-a-side soccer, basketball and volleyball tournaments, and children’s activities, including shows and entertainment, creative workshops and other recreational activities.

Tourism and territorial promotion activities are part of the “Bagheria Plus” initiative, which will take place from September 12 to 14, 2025. This project aims to enhance places, experiences, traditions and views of the area, involving the local community and offering itineraries between sea and mountains. It will be possible to visit places such as Villa Cattolica – Museo Guttuso, Palazzo Aragona Cutò, Palazzo Butera and La Certosa – Museo del Giocattolo, and participate in artistic and environmental walks.
In addition to these events, this summer, on September 26 and 27, as part of the festivities dedicated to Bagheria’s patron saint, there is also the “City of Bagheria Award” singing competition under the direction of Sanremo stage director Pippo Balistreri.

The project approved by resolution 158/2025 from the total cost of 15 thousand euros, provides for the participation in the call “Summer in the Province II^ edition 2025” of the Metropolitan City of Palermo, for which a contribution of 6 thousand euros will be requested. The remaining part will be covered with the municipality’s own resources.
The detailed and final program of “Baharia Estate 2025” will be promoted with appropriate press releases, event by event, with the aim of offering a variety of proposals ranging from art to music, entertainment to sports, celebrating the history and traditions between the sea and the beauty of the area.
