The ‘Agri-Food, Crafts and Trade Fair’ in Aspra

Open throughout August 2025

The 2025 edition of the ‘Agri-food, Crafts and Trade Fair’ was inaugurated on Saturday 2 August 2025, at 7 p.m., on the Aspra seafront, in the Piano Stenditore area.
The event, which will continue throughout August, aims to promote Sicily’s cultural, craft and food and wine heritage, while also promoting local economic development and the tourist appeal of the seaside village of Aspra.
The fair, part of a wider programme of summer events promoted by the municipal administration, aims to transform Piano Stenditore into a landmark for residents and tourists, offering quality entertainment and a unique opportunity to discover the excellence of the area.
The inauguration on Saturday 2 August was attended by the mayor of Bagheria, Filippo Maria Tripoli, the president of the Municipal Council with responsibility for the seaside village of Aspra, Andrea Sciortino, and the Regional Councillor for Productive Activities, Edmondo Tamajo.

‘We are delighted to present this fair, which represents another step forward in our vision to revitalise the Aspra area. With its history and maritime traditions, Aspra has extraordinary potential, which we intend to fully express through initiatives such as this, capable of combining culture, economy and entertainment,’ said Mayor Filippo Maria Tripoli.

The president of the City Council, Andrea Sciortino, added: “The “Agri-Food, Crafts and Trade Fair” is the result of a joint effort with the community and local operators. We want the Piano Stenditore to once again become the beating heart of Aspra, a place for people to gather and a driving force for the village’s craft and commercial activities. I would like to thank the Region and Councillor Tamajo for their interest and contribution to the organisation of this initiative’.

The fair will host wooden huts along the Piano Stenditore, dedicated to exhibitors of local crafts, typical food and wine products and small businesses in the area. There will also be music, craft and art workshops, street performances, screenings and installations, and events dedicated to children. A “Food & Beverage” area will offer Sicilian street food, fresh fish tastings and craft drinks. After the art exhibition, this weekend, the seaside village will come alive with two fun and creative workshops for adults and children, designed to promote reuse and local art:
-Saturday 9 August, from 9:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.: The “Pietre d’arte” (Art Stones) workshop will be held. Participants will be able to try their hand at découpage using stones collected from the sea, transforming them into small, unique and original works of art.
– Sunday 10 August, from 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.: The “Creative Clamps” workshop will take place. With the help of their mothers, participants will learn how to make various household items using recycled wooden clamps, giving new life to common materials.
The Aspra Craft and Trade Fair is an event that celebrates the creativity, ingenuity and industriousness of local talent. The initiative is an opportunity to promote the area’s craft and trade businesses, offering visitors an experience that combines shopping, entertainment and the discovery of traditions.
