Presentation of Pamela Rizzi’s volume at the theater of Villa Butera

“The changing color of the sky” is the title of Pamela Rizzi’s book which will be presented on Friday 20 October at 5pm, at Villa Butera, at the theater of the historic palace in Bagheria.
Sponsored by the Municipality of Bagheria, the event is organized by the We Care Popular School.
Dialogues with the author include professor Domenico Aiello who moderates the meeting, the oncologist of the Buccheri La Ferla hospital, Valeria Albanese, the president of the Bagheria medical association Vittorio Panno, the psychologist Salvatore Fricano. Published by Sometti, the volume tells a story of mindfulness in oncology between science and life, it is an autobiographical essay that retraces the most significant stages of recent knowledge in oncology and in therapeutic treatments and experiences. “Cancer comes like a thief in the night and no one is ever truly ready.” Thus begins Pamela’s journey among the deepest fears, the inconveniences caused by the illness and treatments mixed with the belief of a new “meaning” and a happy epilogue. the author collected her path during the illness, the meditation practices, the study of the same following a Master’s degree at the Sapienza University of Rome and all the activities implemented for the acquisition of skills – supported by in-depth scientific studies – which provide concrete support to traditional oncology therapies, so much so that they are increasingly offered within hospital departments.
