Plastic collection organized by “Plastic Free” in the historic center

A plastic collection organized by the ODV Onlus association “PlasticFree” will take place on Sunday, October 22 from 10 a.m. in the historic center of Bagheria. The initiative enjoys the patronage of the municipal administration, culture department headed by Daniele Vella and urban hygiene department headed by Giuseppe Tripoli, with the collaboration of Amb. PlasticFree association, whose local manager is Giulia Bussu, wants to proceed with a different type of collection than those carried out so far in the municipality of Bagheria. The area where to intervene will not be the usual beach, but the historic center of Bagheria, it will start from Piazza Madrice to arrive at Piazza Garibaldi. The intent will also be to raise awareness among passersby by acting especially among the hidden streets of Corso Umberto, often a den of garbage. The necessary means for collection will be provided.

“PlasticFree,” is a ‘voluntary association born on July 29, 2019 with the aim of informing and raising awareness of as many people as possible about the dangers of plastic, especially single-use plastic, which not only pollutes but also risks killing. Born as a digital reality, in the first 12 months it reached more than 150 million users and today, with more than 900 referents throughout Italy, it is positioned as the most important and concrete association in this issue.
Not only online, Plastic Free, in fact, is engaged in multiple projects, from collecting on beaches and cities to saving turtles, from raising awareness in schools to the project with municipalities.
