On stage: ‘PAULINA’: theatre performance at the Arco Azzurro Geosite
28 August 2025
On Thursday 28 August, at 9 p.m., the Geosito Arco Azzurro will host the theatre show ‘PAULINA’. The protagonists are two young graduates of the Genoa National Theatre School: actress Federica Trovato from Bagheria and actor Davide Niccolini (who is also making his directorial debut on this occasion).
‘We use the story of a Chilean woman to illustrate how public justice deals with rape and femicide and how, consequently, private justice responds to it. The play does not claim to provide answers but to reflect (and invite others to do so) on the violence that pervades our world’.
Federica Trovato, also a singer and musician, includes her original translation of ‘Cancion sin miedo’ (in English, ‘Song Without Fear’) by Vivir Quintana, a Mexican singer-songwriter, in the show. ‘This song is recognised as a true feminist anthem. In my translation, I wanted to include the names of Italian women who have been victims of femicide,’ she says. The show has already been staged twice, at the Centro Donna in Livorno and at the Nuovo Teatro Delle Commedie (LI), meeting with great success and earning requests for numerous repeat performances, the next one on 25 November (on the occasion of the day against violence against women) and in spring 2026.
Duration of the show – 60 min. For information and reservations, please call 380/1391111 or write to geositoarcoazzurro@gmail.com.
