The celebrations in honor of Saint Joseph, the patron saint of Bagheria, conclude with an evening of music. On Monday, September 29, the city prepares to pay homage to its saint with two key events: a concert by Michele Zarrillo and the traditional fireworks display.
Starting at 10:00 PM, Piazza Madrice will welcome one of Italy’s most beloved and romantic artists, Michele Zarrillo, to the stage. A talented singer-songwriter, guitarist, and musician, Zarrillo will perform his most famous songs, those that have shaped the history of Italian pop music. With over 4 million records sold and more than 15 appearances at the Sanremo Music Festival, Zarrillo is an icon of Italian music. His songs, charged with emotion and poetry, promise to treat audiences to an evening of pure magic, where they can relive the most significant moments of his long and successful career.
But as on other days, the celebrations begin in the morning. Starting at 8:30 a.m., the ancient traditions “Abstract between history and craftsmanship” will be presented in the atrium of Palazzo Butera. At 10:00 a.m., the documentary film “San Giuseppe” will be screened, curated by the Pro Loco Genius Loci, chaired by Sabrina Gianforte, at the Mons. Muratore theater in Villa Butera. At 11:00 a.m., the traditional “Gabriele Gagliano” Baaria Drummers’ Tour will take place through the historic center.
And in the afternoon, one of the most anticipated events will take place: starting at 4:30 p.m., the traditional Sicilian Cart Parade will begin, gathering at the market area and continuing along Via Federico II, Corso Butera, Corso Umberto I, and concluding in Piazza Garibaldi. This year, a new feature will be the parade hosted by Gianni Marino, a chef known for his work on the Sky Masterchef Italia show. The cart parade will be accompanied by the “Gabriele Gagliano” Baaria drummers. Gagliano” with a moment in memory of Maestro Gabriele Gagliano. Meanwhile, along Corso Umberto I, the Agri-Food Expo “San Giuseppe 2025” continues until 11:00 PM.
And as usual, the patron saint’s day concludes at 12:30 AM with the lights and colors of fireworks that will illuminate the Bagheria sky, bidding farewell to San Giuseppe and saying goodbye to next year’s celebrations.
