On Saturday, June 6, 2026, the Anchovy Museum will host an event that unites theater, community, and charity: the play “On the Road to Emmaus — And They Didn’t Recognize Him!”, presented by the “Cultura Viva – Teatro per Tutti” group of the Oratory of San Giovanni Bosco and sponsored by the Municipality of Bagheria. The event will begin at 8:00 PM at the museum, where guests will be welcomed with a guided tour of the facility and a tasting of typical products. Afterward, at 9:30 PM, the performance will officially begin. Born from an idea by the parish youth, the initiative aims to use amateur theater as a channel to share the beauty and profound value of the Scriptures.
The plot: the centerpiece will be the well-known Gospel story of the two disciples who, lost and heartbroken after the death of Jesus, set out for the village of Emmaus. The show will offer a living testimony of their inner and outer journey, culminating in the extraordinary encounter that will change their fate. The event is not only a moment of cultural and spiritual gathering, but also a precious opportunity for charity. Admission is free, and all proceeds from the evening will be donated to finance the construction of the new church of San Giovanni Bosco.
The cast, under the artistic direction of Antonino De Luca, are: Valentina Patti, Maria Clemente, Maria Mineo, Silvana Gargano, Antonia Provenzano, Mary Gagliano, Giovanna De Rosa, Lucia Gurrera, Monica Miceli, Riccardo Catanese, Tony Palazzotto, Antonino De Luca, Antonio Mineo, and Giovanni Di Pasquale. The group is coordinated by Monica Miceli, while the project manager is Don Francesco Galioto.
