Bagheria Transforms into an Agora of Art, Entertainment

and Culture with the II Edition of “Agorà” 

From 21 to 25 May 2025

The setting of Villa Butera is preparing to welcome the II Edition of “Agorà”, an event that will celebrate art, entertainment and culture scheduled from 21 to 25 May 2025. Organized by the Sikania Eventi ETS association with the patronage of the Municipality of Bagheria, “Agorà” promises five days full of emotions, with a varied program.

The inauguration of the event is scheduled for Wednesday 21 May at 5:00 pm with the opening of the art and photography exhibitions. At 5:30 pm the press conference will be held with the participation of the city authorities, the mayor of Bagheria, Filippo Maria Tripoli, the president of the city council Andrea Sciortino and the council, the board of directors of the Sikania Eventi ETS association, chaired by Roberto Bruno, and the curators of the exhibitions. During the days of the event, visitors will be able to admire the works of numerous Sicilian artists, including Michele Catti with “The Split Tree”, Aurelio Catti with “Via Libertà in Palermo” and “View of Turin”, Francesco Lojacono with “Almonds and Wild Strawberries”, “Sketch The Plane Tree” and “In the Painter’s Studio”,Francesco Camarda with “The Baths in Mondello”, Ettore De Maria Bergler with “Countryside with Goats”, Antonino Leto with “Grazing on Mount Solaro”, Salvatore Marchesi with “Young Woman in a Pink Dress”, “Noblewoman with Red Scarf and Stick” and “Girl with Tufted Hair” dated 1874, Francesco Patania with “Girl with Brown Shawl”, Onofrio Tomaselli with “Portrait of a Young Woman (Bagheria)” and “Portrait of an Aged Woman”, Renato Guttuso with “Still Life, Paint and Brushes”, Salvatore Gregorietti (1921) with “Little Angels in Flight”, Natale Attanasio with “Browsing the Album” and “The Family in the Garden”, Gennaro Pardo with “Potatoes, Carrots and Lemon, Still Life”, Pietro De Francisco with “The Carousel and the Fountain”, Leopoldo Jelacque with “Self-Portrait”, Eustachio Catalano with “Prickly Pears”, Bruno Caruso with “Profanation” and “The Carriage with the Black Colt”, Giovanni Boldini with “The Last Self-Portrait”, Pippo Rizzo with “Card Game” and Domenico Quattrociocchi with “Cow Grazing with a Peasant Woman”.
The program of the event also includes musical moments of great importance. On May 23rd at 9:00 pm there will be a concert with young voices from all over Italy, including Giorgia Esposito and Rebecca Casadonte, with the participation of Francesco D’Amore and Fiorella Bella. On May 24th at 8:30 pm, the choir and band Settima Polifonia, directed by Maestro Manrico Signorini, will perform in a fundraising concert for the association “Perla Rosa”, with the participation of Argentine tango dancers Marina Meola and Daniele Torres.

May 25 will be dedicated to tradition and folklore, with a parade of vintage cars and motorcycles along Corso Butera to Piazza Madrice at 10:30, followed by a parade of 18th and 19th century period costumes from Villa Butera to the Chiesa Madre at 11:00 and a performance of historical dances by the Compagnia Nazionale di Danza Storica in Piazza Madrice at 11:45. During the concerts, visitors will be able to enjoy the authentic flavors of the area thanks to the gazebos dedicated to tasting typical products.

The municipal administration and the Sikania Eventi ETS association invite citizens and tourists to participate in large numbers in this event that celebrates the art, culture and traditions of the area.
