The Municipality of Bagheria is sponsoring the presentation of the book ‘Di Casa in Casa. The seduction of the painters’ homes. From Paris to Taormina and…’ by Maria Teresa Prestigiacomo, a work that explores the intimate bond between artists and the places that inhabited and inspired their creativity.
The event will be held on Wednesday 14 May 2025 at 16:30 in the Sala Fumagalli Martorana of Villa Butera in Bagheria.
‘Di Casa in Casa’ takes the reader on an evocative journey through the homes of some of the greatest painters, from Paris to Taormina, revealing how the domestic environment can influence an artist’s art and worldview.
Maria Teresa Prestigiacomo, writer, journalist and art critic, with her sensitivity and expertise, unveils anecdotes and curiosities that allow us to tiptoe into the creative intimacy of the masters of art.
The presentation will be an opportunity to talk with the author and explore the themes of the book. Speakers will include: the deputy mayor and councilor for Culture, Daniele Vella, the city councilor responsible for culture and promotion of the territory, Antonello Gargano, and the city councilor responsible for Communication, Giusy Chiello. The meeting will be moderated by Marina Mancini, journalist in charge of the municipal press office. Professor Mari Pistorio will also be speaking at the presentation and will perform a song recital.
