The city of Bagheria is preparing to host an important event for animal lovers: the “Double National Dog Show”, scheduled for 23 and 24 August 2025 at the synthetic grass field of the municipal stadium in Via Alcide De Gasperi. The event, sponsored by the municipal administration, will see the participation of around 800 dogs of all breeds recognised by the International Cynological Federation (FCI).
The event will take place in the evening, starting at 7 p.m., with the “9th Trinacria National Dog Show” on 23 August and the “15th National Dog Show” on 24 August.
Organised jointly by the Trinacria Dog Lovers’ Group (ENCI delegation of Palermo) and the Agrigento Dog Lovers’ Group (ENCI delegation of Agrigento), the event has obtained the financial sponsorship of the Municipal Council of Bagheria, approved by Council Resolution No. 208 of 13 August 2025.
The municipal administration of Bagheria supported the event for its social significance, as well as for its strong positive impact on the area and the local economy, as numerous visitors and dog owners from different parts of Italy are expected to attend.The Councillor for Animal Rights and Stray Animals, Giuseppe Tripoli, emphasised that the event promotes a culture of respect and protection for animals, in line with Article 9 of the Italian Constitution.
The mayor, Filippo Maria Tripoli, and the councillor, Giuseppe Tripoli, will give the official welcome speeches, together with the Councillor for Sport, Antonella Insinga, and the Councillor for Culture, Daniele Vella.
The expo will take place entirely on the synthetic turf of the football field, as is already the case for the city teams’ training sessions. The stands and bleachers will not be used. The field will be completely cleaned by the event organisers.
