At Villa Butera presentation of the book: “Io (mi) curo” by Mariarita Sciortino
Saturday 24 May 2025

The book by Mariarita Sciortino entitled: “Io (mi) curo” – A story of tumours, fears and transformations will be presented on Saturday 24 May 2025 at 5.30 p.m. in the Fumagalli – Martorana room of Villa Butera.
The event is organised by “Creadiva Human Attitude Lab”, a dynamic creative laboratory that distributes cultural content founded by Valeria Scaglia, actress, radio speaker and creative multipotential, under the patronage of the Municipality of Bagheria.
The presentation will see the greetings of the Councillor for Education and Sport Antonella Insinga, the intense readings of actress Rosamaria Spena, the intervention of Dr. Luisa Merati, psychotherapist and psychosomatic specialist, Emanuela di Fatta of Samot, and the moderation of lawyer Rosa Guida.
‘Io (mi) curo’ offers readers a touching and profound account of the young Sicilian Mariarita, a curious and open-minded woman who, after years spent in Milan between love and professional success, finds herself facing the challenge of ovarian cancer at the age of 33. The book is an intimate exploration of her inner world during treatment, a journey between science and conscience, fragility and feelings, in search of a healing path that turns into self-healing and profound inner transformation. A testimony of how choosing to heal, day after day, can lead to the discovery of the true meaning of life and joy in the heart.
Creadiva Human Attitude Lab and its founder, Valeria Scaglia, support this initiative by Mariarita Sciortino, a project that combines culture, empathy and a powerful female testimony.
The appointment in Bagheria represents one of the stages of the book presentation, after Corsico (MI) and Lacchiarella (MI), and demonstrates the commitment of the Municipality in promoting cultural initiatives and moments of reflection on important and delicate issues.
Citizens are invited to participate.
