35th edition of the “Living Way of the Cross” in Aspra

Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 8:00 PM

The 35th edition of the “Living Stations of the Cross” in Aspra will begin in Piazza Mons. Cipolla on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 8:00 PM. For the occasion, the seaside village will once again be transformed into the evocative setting for the moving reenactment of the Passion of Christ, which will unfold through the town’s streets.
The event, now celebrating its prestigious thirty-five-year anniversary, has become a tradition deeply rooted in the community’s identity. The event is organized by the “Passio Christi” Cultural Association, in collaboration with the Parish of Maria SS. Addolorata in Aspra, and is supported by the Municipality of Bagheria.
The living “Via Crucis” represents a moment of intense spirituality and collective participation: numerous participants, including faithful and village residents, will faithfully interpret the stations of Jesus’ painful journey, offering residents and visitors a unique opportunity to reflect on the meaning of Easter in a setting of rare beauty.
The sacred representation will be attended by the Mayor of Bagheria, Filippo Maria Tripoli, and the President of the City Council, delegate for the politics of the seaside village of Aspra, Andrea Sciortino.
President Sciortino himself had a special mention for the organization:

“I would like to heartily thank all the members of the “Passio Christi” Association who, with tireless dedication, have carried on this historic tradition for thirty-five years. Their commitment is a precious gift for our village and for the entire city. I warmly invite all citizens to participate in large numbers and follow the procession through our streets, to share in a moment of profound reflection.”
